Middle East conflict | Parliament to vote on cutting ties with Israel
CAPE TOWN - Israel has recalled its Ambassador to South Africa, Eli Belotserkovsky, for consultations.
It comes ahead of a National Assembly vote on whether to cut ties with Israel.
The EFF tabled the motion calling for the shutdown of the Israeli embassy and cutting of ties.
It was debated in Parliament last week and will be voted on on Tuesday.
At the same time, South Africa has asked the International Criminal Court to probe war crimes in Gaza.
Cabinet called on the ICC to issue arrest warrants for all those involved by mid-December.
That includes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for what it calls statements of genocidal intent.
