Meyiwa murder trial | Cop denies assaulting Ntanzi into confessing

 

JOHANNESBURG - Police officer Solomon Raphadu, says there was never a case of assault opened against him by the IPID.

Raphadu was testifying at the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial.

He's denied assaulting accused number two, Bongani Ntanzi.

Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng asked, "did you get any inquiry from IPID regarding the manner which you allegedly incited or were in presence of your juniors assaulting accused number 2, Mr Ntanzi at an open veld where there are old ATM machines."

"It’s a dumping ground at Orlando East."

"Did any complaint arise or did any disciplinary inquiry arise from the alleged ill-treatment of the accused 2?"

"There was nothing reported."

Raphadu said there has been no IPID case brought against him.
