Medium-term Budget Speech | Cosatu calls for more support for SOEs

JOHANNESBURG - Cosatu is calling on government to give more support to struggling State-Owned Enterprises.

It says this will stimulate the economy and enable growth.

Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana will table his Medium-Term Budget in Parliament on Wednesday afternoon.

Cosatu says measures to reduce youth unemployment must also be put in place.

"We hope that the government will not disappoint us," said Cosatu's Matthew Parks.

"We've have had meetings with the government, president and with ministers of finance and so forth."
