Marine pollution | Activists demand action over Cape Town sewage discharge

CAPE TOWN - Environmentalists are demanding the City of Cape Town explore safer alternatives to discharge sewage.

Action SA filed a criminal complaint against the city for flouting discharge regulations.

It says excessive sewage is being pumped into the ocean in Hout Bay, Greenpoint and Camps Bay.

The city will give an update on its plans to deal with the problem.

Its public participation process is still underway for residents to share their views on the matter.
