PRETORIA - Former National Assembly speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has requested for more information on how police gathered their evidence.
This is because her matter has now been moved to the High Court for trial.
She faces 12 counts of corruption and one of money laundering for allegedly soliciting bribes during her time as Minister of Defence.
She appeared for the first time at the High Court in Pretoria.
Her defence team has requested a postponement to bring an application for disclosure.
Section B details how the police gathered their evidence and Section C, the police’s investigation diary, typically not disclosed to the defence.
However, the court expressed frustration with the request, saying this should have been addressed earlier.
Her bail has been extended to 5 December when the disclosure application will be heard.
