Manuel: Gordhan's firing a 'misadventure' by Jacob Zuma

JOHANNESBURG - Former Finance Minister Trevor Manuel says Pravin Gordhan was hurt and angry in 2015.

Manuel was describing Gordhan's feelings after he was removed by then President Jacob Zuma from the Finance Portfolio.

Zuma appointed Des van Rooyen as Finance Minister but would later backtrack on that decision after pressure from the business community.

Manuel says it was a 'misadventure' by Zuma.

Gordhan died aged 75. 

He died in hospital in the early hours of Friday morning.
