CAPE TOWN - A level 8 weather warning has been issued in the Western Cape.
It follows the persistent bad weather in parts of the province.
Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis says more than 70 neighbourhoods have been flooded.
Cederberg Mayor Ruben Richards was stuck in bad weather on Tuesday morning in the farming community of Citrusdal.
The mayor insists that his municipality is well prepared for this weather.
Heavy rains have forced the Eerste and Liesbeek rivers to burst their banks.
