JOHANNESBURG - As South Africa crossed into the new year, several arrests were made in Gauteng. Police Commissioner, Elias Mawela, says more than 1,700 people were arrested for various offenses.
Police conducted festive season raids as part of Operation Shanela in Johannesburg.
