Labour department raids Sandton restaurants over exploitative practices

SANDTON - Exploitative labour practices are in the spotlight after raids on some Pretoria restaurants on Sunday. 

The operation was continued to restaurants in and around Sandton.

The raids follow a viral video of an employee detailing her working conditions at Menlyn's Babel restaurant.

 

The Labour and Employment Department says once raids are conducted, companies are given time, to correct some of the issues flagged.
