PRETORIA - The defence in the Senzo Meyiwa trial is shooting holes into evidence led by a police ballistics expert.
It accuses Chris Mangena of going out of his way to link Mthobisi Mncube to the murder.
Police say a gun confiscated from him was the same one used to kill the soccer star a year earlier.
But the defence says it will prove police got it all very wrong.
The state alleges Mncube is the gun-wielding intruder who shot and killed Meyiwa at the Khumalo home on 26 October 2014, a claim he denies.
Mangena's cross-examination continues on Wednesday.
