JOHANNESBURG - Former Transnet CFO, Anoj Singh has lost his bid for his bail conditions to be relaxed.
He wanted to take up a job in Dubai with a company called Buy4Rich.
Singh is alleging that he has been unable to secure adequate employment in South Africa, due to the corruption and fraud charges levelled against him.
Acting Magistrate Emmanuel Magampa said Singh failed to provide evidence that he could not secure a job in South Africa.
Singh is charged alongside former Transnet bosses Brian Molefe and Siyabonga Gama, former acting CFO Garry Pita, and former group treasurer Phetolo Ramosebudi.
The charges against them range from fraud, corruption and money laundering to contravention of the Public Finance Management Act.
They relate to the 2012 to 2015 locomotives transaction advisory tender at the state-owned entity.
