JOHANNESBURG - The Joburg EMS' Aquatic Unit is tasked with finding bodies that have been washed away in rivers and dams.

This week, it braved scorching heat and spent six days scouring Klip River in search of two bodies.

A 21-year-old male and an 18-year-old female were swept away during a ritual cleansing.

But who are the men and women tasked with giving families closure when a loved one disappears, and what does it take to do this kind of work?
