Joburg electricity surcharged was planned a long time ago - Gwamanda

JOHANNESBURG - City of Johannesburg Mayor, Kabelo Gwamanda says that the City's electricity surcharge was planned in 2018.

This is after residents have asked the municipality to scrap it.

The R200 per month surcharge was postponed due to COVID-19.

Johannesburg residents are outraged at the new cost.

The mayor is urging them to familiarise themselves with the new tariff regime.
