JOHANNESBURG - Police have arrested several illegal miners during a raid at Rivonia informal settlement in Carletonville, in the West Rand.
The mining town is one of the hardest hit in the province and has seen a spike in the illicit trade of gold.
Deputy Provincial Commissioner, Fred Kekana, led Thursday's Operation Shanela.
