JOHANNESBURG - Independent Electoral Commission CEO Sy Mamabolo is pleading for an end to attacks against the Commission.
Some political parties and organisations have questions the IEC's independence in the run up to the elections.
Mamabolo says the commission will not be influenced by anyone.
He also says it is standard practice to meet with diplomats ahead of the elections.
This after the electoral commission met with US Ambassador to South Africa Reuben Brigedty earlier this week.
Calls are being made for the minutes of the meeting to be made public.
Mamabolo says nothing untoward has occurred.
