JOHANNESBURG - The Public Protector stands by her finding of no wrongdoing by the President, in the Phala Phala foreign-currency theft.
The matter is currently in court for review, after the Hola Bon Renaissance Foundation applied for the Protector's entire report to be set aside.
On Friday, Advocate Kholeka Gcaleka announced that she's cleared President Cyril Ramaphosa of allegations of improper conduct. There were claims that he'd mixed his roles as president of the country and leader of the ANC, when campaigning for the party.

Gcaleka also found that a complaint that former police minister, Bheki Cele, acted in breach of the Executive Ethics Code by using public funds to attend the 2023 Rugby World Cup in Paris, was unsubstantiated.
The public protector had a sit down with eNCA's Heidi Giokos to talk more about these cases and a lot more that her office is currently investigating and looking into.
