Horse injured, euthanised at East London racing event

NTABOZUKO - A horse was injured and put down at East London's flagship horse-racing event, the Berlin November.

Ian Lombard from the East London SPCA said the horse was spooked and slipped, losing its jockey and breaking its leg.

"The state vet assisted us. We humanely put the animal to sleep," Lombard said.

Lombard said the jockey has back injuries.

Over 30,000 fanatics and fashionistas are expected at the event.
