Gouws considering legal action to challenge dismissal

JOHANNESBURG - Former DA MP Renaldo Gouws says he's exploring legal options to challenge his dismissal from the party.

The DA reached a unanimous decision following an investigation by its Federal Legal Commission.

Gouws was found to have breached multiple sections of the DA constitution.

He was seen using racial slurs in a video that went viral earlier this year.   

In a statement, Gouws says he disagrees with the party's decision.

He says his comments from 14 years ago were taken out of context.

Gouws says he will also go after media houses who quoted only parts of his comments.
