JOHANNESBURG - South Africans can let out a sigh of relief as consumer price inflation fell more sharply than expected in March.
It dropped from 3.2 percent in February to 2.7 percent. Stats SA released the latest inflation reading on Wednesday.
This drop was mostly attributed to lower fuel prices during the period under review.
Additionally housing and utilities, food and non-alcoholic beverages, restaurants and accommodation services also played a positive role to the drop.
The country's inflation remains well below the Reserve Banks target range of 3 to 6 percent.
