Ghaleb Cachalia resigns as DA member
JOHANNESBURG - Ghaleb Cachalia has resigned from the Democratic Alliance.
That is as a member of both the party and Parliament.
In a statement a short while ago, Cachalia says his relationship with the DA has become increasingly uncomfortable.
This over his public comments in the past few months.
Cachalia was removed from the party's "shadow cabinet" following remarks on the Israel-Palestine conflict.
He claims he is been accused of contradicting DA official policy and was issued with a cease and desist notification.
Cachalia calls the party dysfunctional, undemocratic and authoritarian.
