EAST LONDON - Former SAA board member Yakhe Kwinana says the charges against her are frivolous as there are agreements with her tenants.

The East London Magistrate's court is hearing her bail application on charges of extortion, malicious damage to property and unlawful eviction.

Kwinana has accused the National Prosecuting Authority of not properly investigating her case.

According to police, Kwinana allegedly terrorised and intimidated her tenants for not paying rent on her land.

It said that she would come with armed men confronting tenants to pay.

She says if the NPA had investigated properly, they would have known that there was an eviction order to demolish her tenants' homes and remove them from her land.
