Foreign minors allegedly held for ransom in Lombardy East

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng police are investigating a suspected human trafficking ring in Lombardy East, Johannesburg.

This follows a dramatic escape by over 30 foreign nationals, most of them minors, from a house in the area.

The victims, believed to be from Ethiopia, include children as young as 13.

Authorities suspect they had been held captive for months, with their captors allegedly demanding ransom from their families.
