JOHANNESBURG - South Africa is not out of the dark tunnel yet, but the light at the end is getting very bright.
Electricity Minister, Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, says Eskom's generation capacity has improved significantly.
He says this is due to better performance by the Tutuka, Kendal and Kriel power stations.
But, he warns blackouts are not behind us yet.

During his update on the state of the electricity grid, Ramakgopa also revealed that only 2-million households in the country receive free basic electricity.
This is out of the 10-million homes who qualify for it.
Ramokgopa, blames this on dysfunctional municipalities.
