Environmental forum urges government to look after the Table Mountain

CAPE TOWN - One of the country's tourist attraction is said to be neglected by the department of Forestry and Fisheries and Environmental Affairs.

The Table Mountain has been on the news for a number incidents that include attack on tourists, infrastructure decay and littering.

The Friends of Table Mountain is calling on Minister Barbara Creecy, the SANParks board and executives to prioritise the care of Table Mountain National Park. They say Table Mountain is a highly profitable park for SANParks but they're not receiving adequate funding to deal with crime, infrastructure decay and invasive alien vegetation.

Andy Davies from Friends of Table Mountain Chairperson says they have a lot of communities and groups that are willing to assist with managing the park but the issue is the budget..
