The pupil and six others were rushed to hospital - apparently after having eaten biscuits bought at a local spaza shop.

This happened just a day after more than 60 pupils received medical attention in Ga-Rankuwa and Winterveldt, northwest of Pretoria.

In another case, three men accused of selling muffins allegedly laced with dagga were denied bail in the Soshanguve Magistrate's Court on Friday.

90 pupils were affected in that incident and the trio is facing multiple charges - including attempted murder.

The basic education department says communities need to come together, to ensure children's safety in and outside schools.
