JOHANNESBURG - Eastern Cape Transport MEC Xolile Nqatha is urging pupils not to cross rivers as they make their way to school.
It follows videos on social media showing the lengths some have to go through to get an education.

Ngatha says rivers are flooded following persistent rains in the province.
He cautions this makes river crossings very dangerous.
The MEC is expected to discuss the issue with his education counterpart, Fundile Gade.
