JOHANNESBURG - Political analyst Professor Erwin Schwella says the Democratic Alliance's Western Cape leadership elective congress was free and fair.
The hotly contested elective congress was held on Saturday and saw Tertuis Simmers being elected as the party's new Western Cape leader.
Professor Schwella has hailed Simmers as a valuable and respected leader who is capable of ensuring the party retains its position in the Western Cape.
Simmers was elected on Saturday.
He has promised to ensure the DA remains in control of the Western Cape after next year's elections.
