CAPE TOWN - The crime stats for the first half of the year have been released.
As expected there have been some increases in the crime stats, but there's also been a number of decreases.
The good news, murder counts have gone down but there's been an increase of over 800 in attempted murder.
General Thulare Sekhukhune tabled the numbers during a media conference.
While there may been an increase in sexual offences such as rape and attempted sexual offences, as noted by General Sekhukhune, there's also been a decrease in sexual assault cases.
