Crime in SA | Criminals target high-value bakkies, SUVs

JOHANNESBURG - Criminals have shifted from targeting older low-value vehicles to newer high-value bakkies and SUVs.

That's according to the latest Insurance Barometer report by Santam.

The report found hijacking and theft claims have skyrocketed.

Santam's Thabo Twalo says Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal are leading in car hijackings.
