    JOHANNESBURG - Consumer Price Inflation has increased to 4.8 percent from 4.7 percent in July.

    Food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 8.0 percent year-on-year.

    READ: CPI falls to lowest level in two years

    Despite the increase, the South African Reserve Bank is expected to leave interest rates unchanged at 8.25 percent.

    Inflation remained within SARB's target range of between three and six percent.
