Court hears of several failed attempts on top criminal lawyer

WESTERN CAPE - The Western Cape High Court heard details of how several failed assassination attempts were made against top criminal lawyer William Booth.

Several shots were fired at Booth at his home in April 2020.

He survived unscathed.

The attacks on Booth form part of the trial of Nafiz Modack and 14 co-accused, who face 122 charges including murder and attempted murder.

Colonel Eddie Clark told the court that during his investigations he discovered links between Nafiz Modack and the hit on lawyer William Booth in April 2020.

Booth had represented a client who was being intimidated and threatened by one of Modack's associates - accused number eight, Jacques Cronje.
