JOHANNESBURG - You can expect an increase in the prices of food and other consumer goods.
This is due to the fuel price hike that kicked in at midnight.
The price of diesel increased by a whopping R2.84 per litre.
The Road Freight Association says poor road conditions are also increasing maintenance costs.
"We are going to pay more for the things that are transported by road, that's just the nature of things," said the association's Gavin Kelly.

"We're going to see price increases starting to happen. It's going to have an effect on inflation."
Kelly said there are number of other factors that influence the freight industry.
"Roads, the condition of roads and delays are also part of the effect that drive costs up."
