JOHANNESBURG - Spaza shop owners are racing against time to ensure their businesses are registered and compliant before today’s 5pm deadline.
Failure to meet the deadline could lead to forced closures.
This comes in response to a directive from President Cyril Ramaphosa, following the declaration of a national foodborne illness disaster.
The move comes after the tragic deaths of nearly 20 children who consumed snacks from vendors and spaza shops.
To discuss this further, eNCA senior reporter, Silindelo Masikane spoke to eNCA.
