City of Tshwane investigates Kwagga Substation fire

PRETORIA - The City of Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality has launch into the Kwagga Substation explosion.

The explosion left large part of the country's Capital without electricity.

The Pretoria City Centre, Pretoria West, Atteridgeville, Pretoria North and Soshanguve were most affected.

Firefighters were able to subdue the resulting blaze, but it destroyed large parts of the electricity infrastructure.

The investigation aims to determine the explosion's cause and assess the damage's extent.

Tshwane Mayor Nasiphi Moya briefed the media on what sparked the fire.
