JOHANNESBURG - The City of Cape Town has been accused of playing hide and seek over a human settlements tender that according to the National Coloured Congress ballooned from a few millions to tens of millions of rand.
A complaint was lodged with the police in 2020 regarding a tender for the refurbishment of houses owned by the City of Cape Town across the metro.
This led to a probe and the subsequent arrest of directors of the construction company that won the tender and two city officials.
One of the officials was found dead under mysterious circumstances earlier this year.
