Chikunga: 'Cwecwe was raped multiple times'

JOHANNESBUEG - As investigation continues into the rape of Cwecwe, Minister in the Presidency for Women, Youth, and People with Disabilities, Sindisiwe Chikunga, has revealed that the seven-year-old was raped multiple times.

Chikunga made the revelation during her visit to Matatiele on Thursday amid growing calls for justice for the victims of Gender-Based Violence.

The young girl  from Matatiele, in the eastern cape was attacked allegedly on school premises last October while waiting for transport. 

Bergview College has been criticised for the handling of the case. 

National police are overseeing the ongoing probe into the incident.
