CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town is tightening the screws on the construction mafia.
It's started blacklisting companies it says are linked to top underworld figures in Cape Town and Multi-multimillion-rand housing contracts with two companies have been cancelled.
The companies are owned by Nicole Johnson, the wife of alleged 28s gang boss, Ralph Stanfield.
The couple, along with three other accused, were arrested in September this year and face a string of charges, including robbery, fraud and contravening Section 9 of the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.
