Body of missing Kliptown teen found

JOHANNESBURG - The body of a missing teen who allegedly drowned while crossing a river has been recovered in Kliptown, Soweto.

The 18-year-old boy reportedly slipped and fell into the river stream on Tuesday.

The river was overflowing following heavy rain on Monday.

EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said the teen's body was recovered at around 10am.

"We have been getting lots of rain and the water levels are much higher," he said.

"Young kids will be tempted to play next to the river streams and they might drown.

"Let's try and avoid crossing river streams."
