JOHANNESBURG - The ANC has not yet taken a position on the shutting down of South Africa's mission in Israel.
The embassy has already been downgraded to a liaison office.
Speaking to JJ Tabane on Power to Truth, party spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri said Israel has all the hallmarks of an apartheid state.

She emphasized South Africa’s position in the ongoing conflict.
"Our position is a long standing position that says we are in solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine," she said.
"We deem Israel to be an apartheid state that says that we call for the self-determination by the people of Palestine that says that we still call for a two-state solution.
"We call for accelerated efforts at humanitarian intervention."
