This was heard when he appeared before the Johannesburg High Court on 24 January.

Investigating Directorate Against Corruption spokesperson Henry Mamothame said when the matter returns to court the cross-examinations would continue and closing arguments from both parties.

Mamothame maintains that the state is opposing bail as Lomas is a flight risk and is suicidal.

Previously in court, the 77-year-old revealed he had a few falling incidents in prison.

Lomas told the court that one of the conditions after he was extradited to South Africa was that he should be monitored every 15 minutes but that has not happened.
