BENONI - The trial of three men accused of the 1987 murder of anti-apartheid activist Caiphus Nyoka began on Monday.
Three former apartheid police officers, Leon Louis van den Berg, Abram Hercules Engelbrecht and Pieter Stander are accused of the crime.
The student activist was shot dead in his Daveyton home by the notorious Security Branch.
A fourth suspect Johan Marais, arrested last week, pleaded guilty and was convicted for his role in the crime.
