ANC in talks with other parties to remove Joburg Mayor

JOHANNESBURG - The ANC in Gauteng is on a mission to reclaim the Tshwane and Joburg mayoral posts. 

After vowing to remove Tshwane mayor, Cilliers Brink through a no-confidence motion, the party now wants Joburg mayor, Kabelo Gwamanda also gone.

It's currently in negotiations with other parties and reportedly wants to restore Dada Morero as mayor.

Morero only served for 25 days in 2022 before he was removed.

Gwamanda is a member of the small Al Jama-ah party.

He has been the mayor for over a year and his performance leaves much to be desired in managing the country’s largest and most important economic hub.

The Al Jama-ah party says talks with other members of their coalition continue.
