JOHANNESBURG - The ANC has welcomed five parties that have signed into the government of national unity.
They reiterated that the opposition will not outmanoeuvre the ANC's vision.
The ANC, DA, IFP, GOOD, and the PA, collectively represent 273 seats in the National Assembly.
That is 68% of the seats in the National Assembly.
The ANC says it has not closed the door on the GNU as discussions with other parties are ongoing.
The majority party says it's calling on other parties who define themselves outside this effort to reconsider and join the GNU.
At the May general election, the ANC only managed to win 40.1% of the votes nationally.
Some political observers are on tenterhooks as there's no telling on the longevity of this GNU.
