ANC confirms Dada Morero as CoJ mayoral nominee

JOHANNESBURG - The ANC has welcomed City of Johannesburg's mayor, Kabelo Gwamanda's, resignation.  

The party has confirmed the nomination of Dada Morero as the new mayor.

In 2022, Morero was elected Mayor but served just 25 days before he was removed.

ANC Johannesburg's regional secretary Sasabona Manganye says that ActionSA had nothing to do with Gwamanda's resignation.

However, it was simply time for the ANC to take over.

Manganye says the ANC also holds majority numbers in the coalition government and that is another reason for the resignation.
