DURBAN - The Pietermaritzburg High Court has dismissed Amazulu Queen Ntokozo KaMayisela's application to interdict the King's wedding to his third wife on Monday.
The Queen initially wanted the third wife, Nomzamo Myeni, wedding to be put on hold until her divorce was finalised.
The king and Myeni were expected to get married over the coming weekend but King Misuzulu kaZwelithini called off his traditional wedding to the queen.
He requested the provincial government to withdraw her security details and benefits and cited reasons beyond the royal family’s control for the cancellation.
No further details were provided.
Cultural expert Sihawukele Ngubane said the king's decision must be respected.
