JOHANNESBURG - AgriSA says the increase in the minimum wage for farm workers will have a negative impact on the sector.
The farming organisation intends to make submissions to Parliament to demonstrate how this will affect growth and sustainability of the sector.
It says even though there's been resilience in the face of numerous crises, especially the Covid-19 pandemic, the pressure is beginning to show.
From March this year, the minimum wage for farm and domestic workers was raised by 9.6 percent, taking it to R25.42 per hour.
