JOHANNESBURG - Eight people have been killed in two separate road crashes in the Eastern Cape.
In the first incident, four people died when a Mercedes Benz SUV collided head-on with a Volkswagen on the N2 highway near Qumbu.
The deceased are believed to be a mother and her three children.
In the second accident, four more people died in a head-on collision on the R61 near Komani.
They're also said to be members of the same family.
Transport authorities are urging motorists to drive cautiously on the roads.
