JOHANNESBURG - The six men charged with the murder of whistleblower, Babita Deokaran, have been given sentences ranging between 6 and 22 years.
This is after they pleaded guilty to her 2021 murder.
Deokaran was killed outside her Winchester Hills home after exposing tenders irregularities at Tembisa Hospital worth hundreds of millions.
It is believed the murder was a hit.
The State and defence entered a plea agreement on Tuesday.
The case was postponed last week to allow the prosecution and defence to finalise negotiations.
Deokaran was a high-ranking official in the Gauteng Health Department.
