JOHANNESBURG - More than 100,000 young people have registered to vote.
This is according to Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Mawethu Mosery.
He says venues and personnel are in place for the coming voter registration weekend taking place on 18 and 19 November.
"Registration weekend in about 23,296 venues is in place. We have finalised the venues themselves. We have finalised personnel that will assist us at these venues itself," Mosery said.
"We have finalised technologies that we will use throughout the registration weekend. And we did a test on whether they will hold up to the influx of voters who may visit voting stations.
"And obviously we still have our online application for those who are unable to the voting stations to register online. We are ready for next week."
