2024 Elections | IEC ready to deliver free and fair elections

JOHANNESBURG - With less than a week to go until South Africans head to the polls,

The Electoral Commission says it's confident it will deliver free and fair elections.

National General Manager of Operations at the IEC Granville Abrahams, explains how technology will keep political parties and voters informed about the results.

"The score boards represents the ballot. We going to have all 19 ballot tallies coming through here…each and every computer you see here has access to the results. We have invested in this massive television to reflect and give clarity for all the visitors as the results come in. We have provided a computer for each of the 52 parties competing in the ballot. Political parties will be allowed ten delegates into the centre," said Abrahams.

South Africa goes to the ballot on 29th May in what is believed to be the most contested general elections.
